Production Log - Week 1

During the first week of actually planning a short scene was relatively simple because we knew that it should be elegant, smooth and simple. We chose to film the preliminary task at school. Myself and my peer Lemuel sat down together and created a script so we know what to say. I believe that our final product was aesthetically pleasing and went smoothly. By viewing it we had excellent feedback on our performance in terms of camera shots and the cuts we made in editing. I contributed well as i helped Lemuel create the script and i edited the video but also gave advice upon camera shots during production so editing can go smoothly. Because if one continuity mistake is made than the final product might not be good enough and audiences would get confused throughout. If i was to improve in further tasks it would be practicing my editing skills but also try be more reliable to my peers as if someone wants help from me he would get it. As being reliable is a key concept in group activities. 

Production Log - Week 2

In the second week it was all out ideas and what can we improve on. As soon as preliminary task was finished we discussed the faults of what needs to be brushed up in the future. Some were upon editing, camera and even the script itself. We had to discuss the faults as that makes us improve as a group. However as soon as the preliminary task had finished we didn't do enough work on the given tasks and so we were a little behind.

Production Log - Week 3

This week we had to finish the tasks from last week because the analysis was left and the Idents as well. Furthermore we had to discuss ideas for our shot by shot remake and we research a couple of films such as ted and scream.  

Production Log - Week 4

This week was filming the chosen opening scene, which was snatch. I was the actor and was given certain advice to help with the continuity of it. When comparing production with this and the preliminary task was that the remake was more difficult in comparison because it had to be similar to the original. The scene was done and i had to edit the footage given.

Production Log - Week 5

This week i finished the editing but it was very hard to make it aesthetically pleasing, as the footage wasn’t done well. However we tried our best and we will use this to improve on the creation of our own film-opening scene. But if i was to be honest we did a lot better in our preliminary task as everything went smoothly because we made it on the spot including the ideas etc. But to follow a shot by shot scene and use it as a remake of your own is very difficult and we realized that when we saw our own remake and thought to our selves we could have done better. 

Production Log - Week 6

In this week it was all about finishing the tasks off that was remaining as there was a remake analysis we had to do, but also uploading to the blog because tasks was done but we weren't uploading on a regular basis and so this week we had organize our selves of what to do and get it done properly.

Production Log - Week 7

In this week we decided to go back on to our blogs and check what missing and complete them. As we believe that if left too late it will hold us back when creating our opening scene. But also in this week we created our script for our opening scene as well as creating a unique name, which will target the demographic in a positive way "48 hours".

Production Log - Week 8

In this week, we filmed our recce so we as a group get a idea of what our scene would look like and if anything should get changed according to the location. But also I had to finish off leftover tasks that had to do for research. Since we did the script the previous week we can depend on it and use that as a guideline. As what I want to do is to visualize how the narrative would be through the camera shots so in editing it will go smoothly as possible but also maintaining that aesthetic look. 

Production Log - Week 9

This week was really the toughest yet because of the people in our group. Since every person should have there input in ideas there was a lot of debates upon certain aspects of planning the opening scene. However we managed to get a good result at the end. I have completed nearly every task in the research and planning but my peers have not. So not only I was putting ideas forward I was being reliable and helpful towards my peers. 

Production Log - Week 10

In this week, we did our rough cut however we didn't like it at all and so we changed the story line and edited the script. The reason why we did this is because the location was wrong and didn't look good but most of all the camera shots was making sense even though we executed it well during production. We know as a group it will take more time and effort to tweak nearly every aspect our opening scene. But we know that the final cut would be a lot better because we made these changes. As the rough cut looked awful. - even through editing. we also created our rough cut for our opening scene. 

Production Log - Week 11

In this week, we as a group decided to change all aspects of the opening scene. The script, location and the narrative is going to be changed to a much better one. The one we tried do wasn't working through editing and the camera shots were limited because of the room being to small as well as the we felt that the narrative was weak. But it matter for three days we created a brand new script and narrative but also chose a location which will be more suitable for our scene. As well as reflecting the action genres codes and conventions. 

Production Log - Week 12

In this week, we filmed our brand new opening scene however I had trouble editing some of the footage because of sound such as wind was blocking some of the dialogue and so we had to shoot it again with no mistakes. we had trouble communicating in the group as ideas were clashing but also we had other subjects to worry about as well. so we later managed to get around this by doing some of the tasks on weekends. The software premier pro was learnt and i was struggling at first but i watched many youtube videos to interact with the software in the best way. But i knew i was a beginner however it never stopped by learning more about the software and how to use effects such as colour correction, title styles etc. This week was rushed a lot because of the deadline so near and we didn't manage to get the footage done properly in the way which we were happy with it. I took some of the footage at home and tried editing it and had some audio and continuity problems and I tried to get around this by asking people for help etc. 

Production Log - Week 13

In this week, we finished the final cut and it took a while to get the shots together in terms of editing. I had to check if the intensity of the colour correction was to strong as you need the same aesthetic look for the entire film. I finished the final edit and my peers gave me feedback of what to change. Even though there are some mistakes I have learnt a lot from this process and in the next two weeks i will produce a in depth evaluation of the journey we made as a group and what i did in the process. 

Production Log - Week 14

In this week, it was pretty much silent in terms of work as our final cut was done and now we were trying to get that step further and try to promote the film. So i was creating a film poster and a banner. As we as a group wanted to see what our film would look like if it was on T.V. 

Production Log - Week 15

In this week, we focused on our evaluations and we constantly delayed the ones we suppose to do as a group because of school schedules etc. 

Production Log - Week 16

In this week, we planned the group tasks upon our evaluation and completed it successfully. All we had to do is edit which I did.
